ESTERO, Fla., Jan. 30, 2017 – Do you have an eye for design and love to entertain? Join internationally renowned fabric designer Michael Devine, author of “An Invitation to the Garden,” for an exclusive seminar and book signing Thursday, Feb. 9 at Miromar Design Center. The presentation begins at 2 p.m. in the MP Interiors/Lee Industries showroom, Suite 302, and will conclude with a champagne reception.

Devine’s 192-page coffee table book explores his passion for outdoor entertaining and presents decorating ideas for any soiree from brunch to dinner as well as original recipes. During the seminar, he will showcase some of his very own tablescapes as well as offer tips for creating stylish al fresco settings for gatherings with friends and family. He will also identify some of the latest trends in fabric and how they can be applied to dishware and silverware design, as well as other dining accessories.

For additional easy-to-prepare recipes, creative tabletop inspiration and ideas on how to transform your outdoor entertaining area into an inviting and enchanting space year-round, Devine’s book will be available for purchase at a discounted price.

Devine has been featured in some of the world’s top design magazines such as House Beautiful, Elle Decor, Traditional Home and many more. Inspired by his experiences living in Paris and his study of art history, he launched his eponymous collection of artisan fabrics in 2002. It has since been expanded to include hand-painted dinnerware and other home accessories. Devine was also recently named one of America’s top 100 party hosts for 2017 by The Salonniere online magazine.

This event is part of a national Lee Loves Local initiative sponsored by Lee Industries during February. Throughout the day there will be other related events held at Miromar Design Center including multiple jewelry and custom rug trunk shows.

The purpose of Lee Loves Local is to bring back brick-and-mortar shops and support local businesses. Since 1969, Lee Industries has been handcrafting American made upholstery in North Carolina. MP Interiors, a showroom at Miromar Design Center, carries products made by Lee Industries.
