Estero, FL (April 8, 2016) – Miromar Outlets is celebrating education with a Block Party to benefit the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools.  The event will take place on Friday, April 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. between Ford’s Garage and Naples Flatbread & Wine Bar on the east end of the mall.

Proceeds will benefit the Dancing Classrooms Program in Lee County, a national program that builds social awareness, confidence and self-esteem through the disciplines of ballroom dancing.  Now in its ninth year, the program is administered locally by The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools and funded by Miromar Outlets. Students participate in 10 weeks of training from certified dance instructors and show their skills at exhibitions at Miromar Outlets.

The public is encouraged to come out for a fun evening of food provided by Ford’s Garage and Naples Flatbread & Wine Bar, drinks, dancing and live music by Sean Wilson Biggs. Special guest Rodney Lopez, the global program director for the Dancing Classrooms Program, will be joined by 5th grade students from the Lee County Public Schools for dance demonstrations. The donation of $50 per person or two tickets for $75 includes admission, (2) drink tickets per person, hors d’oeuvres and the opportunity to win prizes.  Tickets can be purchased online at MiromarOutlets.com/BlockParty.

The final ballroom dancing competition called “Colors of the Rainbow” will be held Saturday, April 23at 4:00 p.m. at Miromar Design Center in Estero. The 8 participating schools are Colonial Elementary, J. Colin English Elementary, Lehigh Elementary, Tortuga Preserve Elementary, Dr. Carrie D. Robinson Littleton Elementary, Tropic Isles Elementary, Bonita Springs Elementary, and James Stephens International Academy. Dancing Classrooms was brought to the state of Florida and The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools in 2007 by Margaret Antonier, Founder and CEO of Miromar Development. Since its inception close to 7,000 students have had the opportunity to participate in the Dancing Classrooms Program in Lee County.
